"art to make you smile"

Paul Bordiss
Paul Bordiss is best known for his quirky and individual paintings of farm and domestic animals, and often uses the tradition of folk dance as inspiration. A passionate musician, Paul can often be found performing with his Irish accordion or singing a sea shanty in local pubs around Pershore and the Cotswolds. Amongst recent patrons of Paul's work are a former Head of fine art at Cambridge University, a Director of a major public city Art Gallery, the Chairman of a National Symphony Orchestra, the Founder of a household name food product, Chairman of a local Chamber of Commerce, Town Mayor and Architect. Paul was recently commissioned by 'The friends of Clifford T Ward', the Worcestershire singer/songwriter, best known for his songs 'Homethoughts from abroad' and 'Gaye', to produce paintings for Christmas cards, based on the song lyrics. Born in Gloucestershire, Paul’s formative years were spent surrounded by Cotswold countryside, farms and livestock. During his early childhood Paul would attend agricultural shows with his father, a stock-man, who would lead the cattle around the show ring. The characters of the cattle, especially the bulls, are a lasting memory, hence his passion for painting cows now! Paul's first job as an artist was whilst serving in the Royal Navy. Recognising his artistic talent he was appointed as Artist on the intelligence gathering team. Paul continues to work as a chimney sweep and full time artist.....
